TASK 2: Practice primary motion of the loom

1 Sit on the loom which is fully operated.
2 Press the treadles according to design. (Fig 1) Fig 2

4 Now pass the shuttle between the divided warp with
the help of picker or hand.(picking motion).fig.

3 Now the warp yarn is divided into two layers. 5 Then beat the filling thread with the help of reed
(this gap between warp yarn is known as shed). (beating).

6 Now change the treadle and repeat the process.

TASK 3: Secondary motion of the loom

1 After completing the primary motion, stop the Fig 1
weaving.
2 Now open the lock of the warp beam and then cloth
beam.(in a through shuttle loom) (Fig 1)
3 Now release the warp from the warp beam (let off
motion).
4 Then wind the woven cloth onto the cloth beam.(take
up motion).
5 After the let off and take up motion, lock the warp
beam and cloth beam again.
6 Now start the weaving with primary motions.
